AWKA—MR. Christian Aforka, an indigene of Adazi Nnukwu in Anaocha local government area of Anambra State, who lost his wife and brother to the Boko Haram carnage in Mubi, Adamawa State, yesterday pleaded with the Federal Government to find a way of ending the security challenge in the country.

According to him, the souls of his late wife and brother and other people murdered in cold blood by the Islamic sect in Northern Nigeria will not rest in peace if the killings did not stop.

Twelve persons from the community lost their lives when the sect allegedly attacked them in Mubi in December last year.

Aforka spoke at Adazi-Nnukwu Town Hall when the President of Charity Ezeemo Trust for the Less Privileged, a non governmental organisation, Mr. Goddy Ezeemo, paid the community a condolence visit.

He prayed God to continue to remember and bless all those who had continued to support the families since the tragic incident, adding that most of those left behind would have died if not for the support of the various groups and individuals.

Appealing for a stop to further waste of lives, Aforka observed that many Nigerians had been rendered useless because of the trouble in the North, adding that many people doing business in the North had had to return home and had nothing doing at present.

In his speech, Ezeemo, who gave the families N150, 000 as his initial support, promised to evolve other ways to assist families of the bereaved.

Describing their death as tragic and regrettable, he urged the families of the victims to take solace in God as nothing happens without God’s knowledge.

He also appealed to government to ensure that the security of lives and property of Nigerians were secured anywhere they resided in the country.

He said: “Security challenge in the country is overwhelming and nobody is safe. If things continue this way, the notion that we are one Nigeria does not hold water and already the peace of the country is being threatened by the activities of the Boko Haram sect.

“I commiserate with the families of the victims and I assure them that our Charity Trust is with them in this trial moments of their lives.”
