Yesterday, another history was made towards bringing all members of the Al-Fathiu Quareeb Family under one umbrella. The Board of Trustees led by Alhaji Abdul-Mumin Olayiwola Adegoke said at a press conference held at Ladi Lawal NUJ Press Center, Ikeja, that it was ready to unite all aggrieved members of the society as one big family just as a new certificate issued by the CAC for the Societywas displayed to the members of press present at the briefing.
Alhaji Adegoke said: “The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has by the issuance of a new certificate Ref. No. CAC/IT/NO 15645 dated 17th of February, 2012 acceded to the society’s requests to replace a deceased member of the Board of Trustees, Alhaji Munihim Taiye Tijani, (may Allah grant him Aljanah Firdaous) and also to increase the membership of the board from nine to ten.”
He therefore called on all aggrieved members to return to the society to collectively take the society to the next level. “We are calling on those who were aggrieved and turned against the society on the ground that we could have done things differently to please note that there are numerous approaches to solving human problems and Allah is the decider of all affairs; He knows the end of an issue before it is conceived.
We enjoined all of you, individually and collectively to return to the society forthwith so that we can jointly build a society of our dream and move Quareeb Family to the next level.”
The BOT as newly reconstituted are Mr. Ismail Bello, Alhaji Surajudeen Qwodunni, Alhaji Abdul-Mumin Adegoke, Mr Ismail Ayodele, Alhaji Rasheed Bello, Brigadier Gen. Abass Adekanye, Alhaja Risikat Abiola Malik, Alhaja Faidat Alade, Alhaji Sikirulahi Oyekanmi Falade and Alhaja Muinat Alake Shopehin-Akande.
Alhaji Adegoke reaffirmed the unity of the society adding that the Quareeb Family is ready to take her rightful place among the comity of Islamic organizations.
“The BOT as the custodian of the society’s values and interests is assuring all members of the society, the entire Muslim ummah and the general public that it shall always strive to uphold and even promote the sacred unity among members of the society.
The Board shall in conjunction with other management organs do our possible best to ensure that the objectives of the founding fathers of the society are not only achieved but also sustained.”
“We are also calling on all members of the society who were either de-motivated or discouraged by the challenges of our immediate past to recognize that “no challenges, no progress”. Please, turn a new leave and stand up to work for the progress of the society!
He disclosed that the society will set up a reconciliatory committee consisting of all organs of the society to achieve the desired unity. Alhaji Adegoke added that he was hopeful that the committee will reconcile all aggrieved members before the month of Ramadan.
While expressing appreciation to the Federal, states, Local Governments including agencies like the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) and the Security Agencies for their understanding and pains in going through long due process; he said the society is appreciative of the strong support, counseling and guidance of our spiritual fathers too numerous to mention.
