Home-based Super Eagles will today trade tackles with the Palancas Negras of Angola at the Abuja National Stadium in an international friendly that portends different things to the two teams.

While the Palancas Negras of Angola see the encounter as a pre-Africa Cup of Nations tune up, for coach Stephen Keshi and his wards the mid-week duel will provide a window for assessment by Nigerians on progress made so far in Coach Stephen Keshi’s attempt to rebuild the national team.

With this in mind, some of the players likely to feature in the match have been speaking on the match.

Sunshine Stars of Akure left back, Osasco Precious has hinted that the Eagles will not take the game lightly.
Speaking to Sports Vanguard from the team’s camp in Abuja, the dead ball specialist stressed that he and his colleagues were bent on coming out tops from the encounter.

“We are very prepared for the game knowing full well that our performance will determine our stay in the team. We are not seeing the game as a friendly match because we have our target which goes beyond the encounter, so we are bent on winning the tie in order for Nigerians to know that we deserved a place in the Super Eagles,” Osasco said.
