Nigerians in diaspora commend FG for recent arrests

Paris – Some members of Nigerians in Diaspora Organisation Europe (NIDOe), have commended the Federal Government for its recent arrests of suspects of the Boko Haram group.

Mrs Olivia Nwafor, a member of NIDOe France Chapter, praised the efforts of government on Friday in Paris during an interactive session with President Goodluck Jonathan.

“I would like to commend the government for arresting a member of the Boko Haram group. This is laudable and commendable and may God continue to guide you,” she prayed.

Nwafor said there had been cases of terrorism in the country but “`we never heard of any arrests. We thank the government for restoring our faith in the transformation programme with recent arrests’’.

She lauded the First Lady for supporting the President and ensuring that women were well represented in governance.

“I want to also commend the First Lady for her support to the President and for her tireless effort at ensuring that
women are well represented in governance. We promise to stand by you also,’’ she said.

The President of NIDOe, Mr Sam Ogiajesi, said  he would “keep supporting the transformation agenda of this administration.

“We appreciate him and we thank him for his support of diaspora affairs.

“Like every other Nigerian living abroad, we are pained over the recent bomb blasts that have rocked some parts of
the country.

“We are however pleased to hear that the federal government is taking steps and has made some arrests. We assure the president of NIDOe’s support and commitment to move the country forward.’’

An aviation engineer, Mr Oluwole Ajala, said : “the president is an achiever and has restored our hopes in governance.”

“ I am therefore willing to put something back in my community and so I’m doing a research on how we
can try to improve the aviation system in the country.

“I am a guest lecturer for the Airforce Institute of Technology in Kaduna and recently sent journals, manuals, books to
help them even though I’m from Oyo State.

“So, yes I am impacting in the little way I can because I believe that Nigeria is a good country to live in.” (NAN)
