Former BCC Lions of Gboko’s midfield general, Moses Kpakor has hinted that Super Eagles Coach, Stephen Keshi would not have issues of discipline with the Eagles if the NFF supports him properly.
The Algiers ’90 Super Eagles midfielder believes that the ‘Big Boss’ appointment is the right decision in the right direction for Nigerian football.
He also reckoned that Keshi’s appointment is the first the NFF has taken in recent years based on antecedent.
“Well, I think he would be able to handle such issues if the NFF gives him the backing. I do not think that Siasia’s idea of discipline is negative at all. I am 100 percent in support with the measures he took only that he did not get the total support from the NFF. I hope they will not do the same with Keshi
“It is a welcome development as this is the first time that the Nigerian Football Federation is appointing a coach based on his pedigree. Keshi’s appointment for me should have come earlier than now.
“Not that I am saying Siasia was not good, but I was very shocked when the NFF said that he was the best. Well, I am very happy that the rightful person has been appointed to saddle the affairs of the Super Eagles,” Kpakor said.
On the task of getting the team to the quarter finals of the 2014 World in Brazil, the ex_Abiola Babes star opined that the former Togo coach is capable of the feat.
“Yes, he is capable of doing it. He has done it before with Togo, qualifying them for both the World Cup and Nations Cup and also qualified Mali for the Nations Cup. These are countries with fewer talented players as compared to us and he delivered,” Kpakor added.
