Enyimba of Aba are hoping to end their losing streak and qualify for the final of the CAF Champions League when they clash with visiting Wydad Casablanca Sunday in Aba.

The former African Champions were jolted out of their winning ways after losing the Federation Cup to bitter rivals Heartland of Owerri. That defeat ended the victory runs of the coach Okey Emordi tutored team and this include the 1-0 loss to Wydad in the first leg semi-final of the Champions League. After this Enyimba have lost two domestic games, the last being the 1-0 defeat suffered in the hands of Rangers last week.

This was unbecoming of a team which went 11 games unbeaten in the Champions League. However, coach Emordi believes that all that will change when they face Wydad.

“We need to remove the memories of these last four games by booking our ticket to the final of the CAF Champions League.

“My players know what is at stake so everybody is going to prepare hard. Our response to this defeat has to be emphatic and swift.”

“We need to start getting positive results, starting from Sunday.”

Enyimba can bank on the fact that they have not lost a single game at home this season. But it is left for the players to make good use of home advantage.

“We have to convert our chances. In football if you don’t take your chances, you won’t win so we have to address a lot of things as we look to the future,” Okey stated.
