OWERRI-The leadership of All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, in Imo State, Thursday, said the emergence of a group which calls itself the “Interim Executive Committee of APGA” tantamounted to impersonation.
In a letter dated September 12, 2011, signed by the state Chairman and Secretary, Prince C. C. Nwaka and Mr. Eric Mbadugha, respectively, the duo alerted the State Resident Electoral Commissioner, REC, about a parallel executive committee of APGA in the state.
It said: “We have examined the list of this so called interim committee, comprising 15 members and found out that not one of them is a registered member of APGA. Their assembly therefore is illegal and tantamount to impersonation.”
The party leaders added: “As the controlling electoral body in Imo State, we call on you to use your good offices to call these mischievous politicians to order.”
“They should desist from heating up the polity and engaging in acts capable of breaching the peace. APGA in Imo State is still one undivided body without any faction.”
