Ten cities, ten concerts are the deal offered the 40 million strong MTN subscribers in Nigeria as the Telecom giant celebrates ten years in business.
Beginning today, Makurdi, the Benue State capital comes alive with great names like D’Banj, Flavour, Tiwa Savage and Whiz Kid rocking the Food Basket of the nation in concert.
The good news is that it’s a free show for all MTN subscribers.
The concerts train leaves Makurdi for Enugu and then to Calabar and Port Harcourt. Other cities on the MTN. groove train are Ilorin, Abuja, Owerri, Benin, and Ibadan.
But you have to be of the age limit, which is 18 and above to before you are allowed entry.
Other artists who have confirmed their readiness to raise the roof in these cities are Naeto C, Omawunmi, Iyanya and Ikechukwu. The list also includes Dr. Sid, Da. Prince and Project Fame discovery, Chidinma.
Comedians Jedi and Seyi Law would be on hand to anchor the shows, which would be the first of its kind in Nigeria.
The six-week long fiesta is a ‘thank you’ party to Nigerians according to MTNs General Manager, Consumer Marketing, Kola Oyeyemi.
“When MTN. came into Nigeria ten years ago, no one gave us a chance, but the people of Nigeria knew what they wanted and gave a massive support to our network.
The concert is own our way of saying thanks for believing in us. It’s also a way that tells us we didn’t make a wrong investment decision as our network is now the biggest in Nigeria and the highest revenue spinner in the Africa and Middle East Region of the business,” he said.
