Pray for me, Amosun urges at praying ground

ABEOKUTA – AS gaily dressed Muslims in Ogun State Tuesday trooped out to offer prayers to mark the end of the Ramadan fast, the Governor of the state: Senator Ibikunle Amosun urged people of the state to pray fervently for his administration, saying that his
administration could only succeed through divine blessings.

The Governor, who stated this at the Abeokuta Prayer Ground Lantoro where Muslim faithfuls gathered for the end of the Ramadan fast prayers implored Muslim ummah as well as non-Muslims across the state to reflect on teachings of Ramadan which centered on good social conduct, virtues and Godly acts for enthronement of peace, unity and tranquillity in Ogun state and by extension in Nigeria.

He thanked both Muslims and non-Muslims for their unflinching supports since he assumed governorship seat in the state, asking them to maintain the supports,especially as he is preparing for 100 days in office slated for next week.

Speaking earlier, the Chief Imam of Egbaland,Alhaji Liad Orunsolu, urged people to distance themselves from militancy,terrorism and other ungodly acts that are capable of truncating peaceful co-existence of Nigeria,adding that Boko Haram’s acts of terrorism was ungodly, unjustifiable and unIslamic.

He asked Muslims to imbibe the lessons and teachings of Ramadan since Ramadan teaches Muslims and non-Muslims, good virtues, rectitude and perfect ways of live.
