NBA President lauds Amaechi’s developmental strides

PORT HARCOURT — The Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, has rated Rivers State Governor and Chairman of the Nigerian Governor’s Forum, Chibuike Amaechi, high on initiating and sustaining a clear transformational policy in the state.

NBA President, Joseph Daudu, SAN, made the commendation during the opening ceremony of the 2011 Annual National Conference of the Association in Port Harcourt, Monday.

Daudu called on the Federal Government and other state governors to emulate Amaechi in such development programmes as education, health, infrastructure among others.

He said: “We have had course to follow with keen interest your developmental programmes for Rivers State in the area of education, health, infrastructure, justice, law and order, etc. They are not only transformational, but a serious lesson for other states’ administrations to emulate.”

The NBA president told the lawyers at the conference to visit some of Gov Amaechi’s projects particularly on education to confirm the level of development brought to the state by his administration.

He said: “Visit some of Amaechi’s projects on education, the model primary school and you will also see the secondary schools. One of the schools we were registered in shows what dedicated and clear headed leadership can achieve.”

“The Federal Government should as a matter of urgency, build one such model secondary school in each of the 774 local government areas throughout the country,” He added.

The NBA President further thanked Governor Amaechi for his unprecedented support to the Bar towards the ongoing conference spanning from venues for every event, logistics for dinner and luncheon, tour buses and other forms of transportation throughout the conference.
