The Forum for Purposeful Governance and Democratic Ethos, FPGDE, has commended President Goodluck Jonathan for compensating families of the 10 slain National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, members.
The 10 corps members were gruesomely murdered by irate mob in Bauchi State shortly after the victory of President Jonathan at the poll last month. President Jonathan had recently announced the payment of N5 million to the family of each slain corps members.
The group, in a statement issued by the Director of Communications, Doyin Ilawole, and made available to Vanguard said: “This is to appreciate Mr. President for the federal government’s compensation plan for the families of the 10 National Youth Service Corps members that were murdered during the violence that engulfed some northern states after the recently concluded presidential elections.
“This is commendable, especially against the background of the usually slow pace of government’s response to such necessary compensation.”
