LAGOS – THE presidential candidate of the Fresh Democratic Party, in the just concluded elections, Rev. Chris Okotie, has urged Nigerian workers to be dedicated in their service to their fatherland.

In a statement  in Lagos on the occasion of the May Day celebration, the reverend recalled the noble role Nigerian workers played during the nation’s struggle for independence from Britain and urged the present generation of workers to emulate such commitment.

Okotie also urged employers of Labour to treat workers well, saying improved working conditions would enhance the efficiency and productivity of employees.

“When a conducive environment is created for workers, an employer is bound to get the best from his employees,” he added.

The cleric urged Labour Unions to promote workers’ education to enable them know their rights in a democratic environment, pointing out that training and retraining should be part of the scheme to enhance the productivity.
