WARRI- GOVERNOR Emmanuel Uduaghan delivered all the votes in his unit 1, ward 6, Abigborodo in Warri North local government area to President Gooduck Jonathan, according to information that got to Sunday Vanguard from INEC electoral officials.
Uduaghan who was happy with the 100 per cent vote for President Jonathan in his unit asked the voters to sustain the tempo in the April 26 governorship election. The authenticated result was being awaited as at press time.
His main rival in the election, Chief Ogboru was also learnt to have voted for President Goodluck Jonathan.
But, there was a general problem in most of polling units in the state yesterday, as result sheets were not immediately available to enter the results of the election. Some of the INEC officials, guarded by soldiers and policemen, were seen moving with the ballot boxes to collation centers in search of their supervisors for result sheets.
It was observed that polling agents of the Peoples Democratic Party, Democratic Peoples Party, DPP and Action Congress of Nigeria, CAN, join forces with the electorate in most of the polling stations in Warri South, Uvwie and other parts of Delta State to give their votes to President Goodluck Jonathan.
At polling unit 5, ward 5 in Uvwie local government area, where election was completed by the electoral officials as early as 2.00 pm, the results for the unit was not paste on the wall because there was no result sheet.
One of the INEC adhoc staff, who conducted the election confirmed to Sunday Vanguard that they had no result sheet to enter the results and were waiting for an unnamed INEC official to bring the result sheet in about five minutes time. He assured that the result would be pasted in the next 10 minutes when he spoke to Vanguard at about 3.00 pm.
When Sunday Vanguard checked for the result at the polling unit at about 5.00 pm, there was nothing pasted. But the result of last Saturday’s National Assembly polls, which was pasted in the unit, was still intact.
At unit 10, ward 5, in the same Uvwie local government, there was no result pasted after the election, but the PDP, DPP and ACN members did not hide the fact that they voted for President Jonathan.
