Nigeria’s U-23 team, Dream Team V, yesterday, in the ancient city of Benin City, defeated their Equatorial Guinea counterpart by 5-0.
The game saw Granada FC of Spain striker, Odion Ighalo, scoring in the 16th minute before Captain Haruna Lukman doubled the tally in the 27th minute of the game.
Equatorial Guinea missed a good chance in the first half as their shot hit the upright after goal keeper Dele Ajigoye was displaced.
The Austin Eguavoen -led Dream Team V, scored its third goal through Lillestrom of Norway goal poacher Emmanuel Igiebor who dribbled the Equatorial Guinea goal keeper after Nnamdi Oduamadi had torn the defense of the visitors.
Nigerian Premier League goal predator, Ekigho Ehiosun, came in, in the 59th minute for injured Odion Ighalo as he latched on to a loose ball, passed to Emmanuel Igiebor in the 18 meter box, and hit a low drive for goal number four in the 61st minute.
Haruna Lukman lost an amazing opportunity through a penalty in the 70th minute to give Nigeria a five- goal cushion as his shot went wide.
Warri Wolves wonder kid, Ekigho Ehiosun, made it five in the 88th minute as the game ended five goals in favour of the Dream Team.
