ABUJA – Police in Abuja, have arraigned one Ifeanyi Nnamadi, 23, and Obinna Idili, 19, both of Wuse 11, Abuja, before an Abuja Magistrates’ Court for stabbing one Kelvin Moran, while robbing him.
The duo were arraigned on a four-count-charge of criminal conspiracy, attempted robbery and voluntarily causing bodily harm in an attempt to commit robbery and attempt to cause death or grievous hurt, punishable under Sections 97 (1), 299, 300 and 303 of the Penal Code.
The Police Prosecutor, Mr Boniface Asogwa, told the court that the accused on December 9, 2010 conspired together and robbed one Kelvin Moran of American Embassy of his Toyota jeep with registration number 140 CD-125.
He said that “on the process of executing same, the accused voluntarily caused grievous bodily harm to the complainant by stabbing him all over his body.”
When the charge was read to the accused persons, they pleaded not guilty and their counsel, Remi Agu, made an oral application for bail which, was objected by the court.
Magistrate, Binta Mohammed ordered that the accused be remanded in police custody pending when a written bail application with sworn affidavit was brought before the court.
The matter was adjourned till May 3, for hearing.
