Toro clears the air on Adamu replacement

With the confirmation of Dr. Amos Adamu’s three- year suspension by FIFA last weekend, the Confederation of Africa Football executive committee will now appoint another official to replace Adamu for the remainder of the term.

Former Nigeria Football Association secretary-general, Sani Toro cleared the air while quoting CAF statutes at the weekend.

“Article 22, Sub Section 12 of the CAF statutes stipulates that should there be vacancy on the CAF executive committee during the first half of the term of office the executive committee shall elect a replacement for the remainder of the term.”

But this will be so if Adamu does still not proceed to Court of Arbitration. There are feelers that he may allow sleeping dog to lie.
