Gang leader arrested over DPO’s killing

A gang leader described as “very notorious” in police circle has been arrested in connection with the killing of the Obiaruku Divisional Police Officer, DPO, Mr. William Agbogoroma, penultimate Sunday, thereby bringing the number of suspects arrested so far to 10.

Also  men of the  Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, have impounded a truck load of adulterated petroleum product, which was being conveyed to the East as well as three suspects including the driver of the truck.

State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Charles Muka, who confirmed the arrest of the kingpin killer of the DPO, said that “with the arrest of this suspect, I think we are making a headway. He is a key suspect.”

Nine persons were earlier arrested in connection with the killing of the DPO, who was ambushed and killed on that fateful Sunday.

Parading the suspects arrested in connection with illegal bunkering, Delta State Commandant of NSCDC, Musa Andekin commended the staff of the command for the zeal they had put into their work, noting that it was yielding fruits.

The truck was intercepted along the Asaba-Benin highway through the vigilance of his men.
