The National Sports Commission has cautioned the Aminu Maigari-led Nigeria Football Association, NFA against mking inflammatory remarks that are culpable of stirring controversy. Chief Patrick Ekeji, the director general of the NSC gave the stern warning during the official unveiling of Samson Siasia as the new Chief Coach of the Super Eagles.
Apparently irked at the reckless utterances often made by the current executive committee members of the NF, Chief Ekeji warned that, “Your members are always making statements they cannot substantiate,” adding, “You should be courageous enough to correct any member that wants to stir controversy.”
Though he expressed appreciation at the NFA’s conduct since assumption of office, the director general also warned that the executive committee members should not give room for Siasia to complain.
He advised that the parties should instead dialogue to fill the gap so that there would be no cause for misunderstanding, noting that victory brings peace as he urged Siasia to strive to always win so that whatever problems there are would be forgotten.
