LAGOS—ANTHILL Digital Limited has made planning of trips by passengers easier, as people can now make their travel arrangement through mobile phones.

This came at a time Managing Director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, Mr. Richard Aisuebeogun, said such an innovation was capable of driving development of the air transport industry in the country.

Managing Director of the company, Timi Agama, who disclosed this at the launch of the initiative, tagged TEXT2FLY, in Lagos, said passengers could get all flight schedules by merely texting the location of the flights and time to 33057.

Agama affirmed that with the newly introduced product, passengers could get all their needed information about flights schedule at the appropriate time.

“All that you need to do as a passenger or prospective air traveller is to send a simple SMS text message in your mobile phone specifying the time and the location that you are going to travel to 33057.

“For example, from Lagos to Abuja at 8:00am on December 24 to 33057 and we will reply you with all the necessary flight schedules for that day and at such particular point in time. If you prefer a particular airline, you can send the time, day and the name of the airline and we will give you the entire schedule as well,“ he noted.

He, however, expressed confidence that with the introduction of text2fly, the era of looking at the flight schedule on the pages of the newspapers was over

Adding that there was also no need to bother about checking flights schedule on the internet due to the slow pace and unnecessary network failure that passengers could encounter during such process.

Agama also noted that with text2fly in the aviation sector, passengers could get all the local flights schedule at anytime in Nigeria, stressing that it would serve as an avenue for the traveling public to know the exact time an airline would fly.

“People can be able to book and check in as well as pay everything that they need to do in the nearest future. We want to be the travel agent that is inside your mobile phone,“ he stated.

Expressing his gratitude to Mr. Timi Agama for making such product available to passengers, Managing Director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, Mr. Richard Aisuebeogun, noted that Agama had shown his entrepreneur skills with the new flight planning system.

Aisuebeogun noted that over 75 million people use phones in Nigeria, and concluded that the introduction of text2fly would help a lot in driving the vision of transporting passengers from various airports across the country from one place to the other, right in the confines of their bedroom through the use of their phones.

“Indeed, this is a welcome development. I believe that the airlines will come to appreciate this project as it will add value to the entire air transport business in Nigeria,“ he affirmed.
