COALITION for Good Governance and Economic Justice in Africa, yesterday, appealed to striking Lagos doctors to return to work in line with their oath of office, saying that the doctors should bear in mind that life lost during the strike will never come back.
In a statement, the group argued that the industrial action was not the best way to handle issues that affect human life and wellbeing.
Besides, the group’s Executive Director, Prince John Onaivi Mayaki said: “Their grievances can be solved, but the method employed by the striking medical doctors could lead to terminal consequences and death of persons which is evidently taking its tolls already.
“It amounts to blackmailing Lagos government if the striking doctors do not heed to the appeals. I think Lagos government should not succumb to blackmail.”
