Viewing Africa through the lens
When the idea of holding an annual international photography festival was conceived by the African Artists’ Foundation,AAF, it was clear at the official opening ceremony of the exhibition, that the organizers never envisaged a massive turn out of a fantastic crowd comprising virtually, individuals representing nations of the world such that it exposed the organizers as lacking in a proactive approach to events management, and the essence of art as a pivot for socio-cultural interactions among people.
The 7 keys to maximum immunity
HEALTHY LIVING 101: Your best protection against illness does not come from a pill or an injection, but from your body’s first line of defence: “the assorted cells and organs that make up the immune system”. This complex, finely tuned system stands ready to identify, attack and destroy any invading germs that would attempt to wreak havoc on your health; but just like the rest of your body, your immune system depends on you to take proper care of it, otherwise it can’t do it’s job as well as it should. What you need is a resource to show not only how to strengthen your natural resistance to disease but also how to heal yourself, if you do become sick. (It is all in the 7 Keys to maximum immunity). Nigeria, oh Nigeria! (2)
The problems of Nigeria are too serious to be treated cavalierly at this point in time. Therefore, instead of wasting energy and scarce resources celebrating a cretinous giant, Nigerians, especially top members of the ruling class and the bourgeoisie, ought to have spent the day meditating on the problems of the country and how to go about resolving them with renewed vigour, commitment, courage and selflessness. This year’s independence anniversary has come and gone.
Elegant in Coral
Jemi EKUNKUNBOR With the holiday season comes plenty of fun. One colour that gives instant attraction is coral. It is the colour to go for this season. It is not only flattering, it compliments the season’s many neutrals and nudes. In this clime, coral spells royalty and it looks fabulous on most women. Interestingly too, […]
The truth about the motion for independence
There has been so much confusion, misunderstanding and misinformation about who actually moved the motion for Nigeria’s independence. Given the fact that Nigeria was 50 years old on October 1 and it marked our jubilee year as an independent nation, I believe it is time to set the record straight and bring this matter to closure. And in order to do so successfully we must be guided by facts and historical records and not by sentiment or political considerations.

Dr. Kayode Fayemi, formally assumed the mantle of leadership of Ekiti State, yesterday pledging a new dawn in which education will be free at primary and secondary school levels.

Aba: A time to heal
Much has been written about the kidnapping situation in Aba; a situation which has basically sacked the city, and made life uninhabitable and brutish. Kidnapping in Aba seems to be the climax of affairs that have brought this great city to its knees.
The meek shall inherit the earth
Cecilia Ibru, the former Managing Director of Oceanic Bank, is a meek woman. She looks meek and behaves like it. I was surprised she admitted the fiddling she did.

INEC And 2011 Elections : Gloom Looms: Magnifying Spectre of Constitutional Crisis
The continuing treatment of the Nigerian Constitution as a love letter by the quartet of President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, Professor Attahiru Jega, legislators and the political parties in the country sends disturbing signals across the land – they believe amendments to the document should swing with their shifting moods.
It was Adams Oshiomohole, the Edo State governor who made the remark at one of the public hearings pursuant to amending the 1999 Constitution.
Pregnant Sunday: Who carries the day in Big Brother All Stars
Without a doubt, M-Net has indeed wrung out a winner with the All Star Edition of Big Brother Africa. The logic was simple: every Big Brother Africa fan had a season they considered the most exciting largely because of the housemates that brought the show to life.
Are you in love with a loser?
As I write this, she is still seeing him. She drives to his house and spends most nights with him these days. She is ready to do anything for him, and I guess he is having a swell time, or so he thinks.
Re: Made in Nigeria products
Their citizens supported them by buying their products; warts and all. Now, their products are acceptable internationally, and to us down here they are the best and we clamour for them. How about us supporting our home industries while they make an effort to improve their products? I buy MADE IN NIGERIA always. Shunning products made here is not the way forward. Thanks. Fada, Ikoyi, Lagos.’‘
