By Victor Ahiuma-Young

ACTIVISTS under the umbrella of Joint Action Forum (JAF), a civil society organisation will today in Lagos begin a series of mass protests to mobilize Nigerians against the Federal Government’s planned privatization of the Power Holding Company of Nigeria, PHCN.

The group’s Secretary, Comrade Abiodun Aremu, who disclosed this at a forum organized to sensitise Nigerians on plans by the government to unbundle PHCN,said the protest rally would take off from the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC Secretariat in Yaba and terminate at the PHCN office in Marina .

Aremu said that the forum was against privatisation because it was not in the interest of the masses.
He said “power supply has not been efficient because of corruption.”
