We paid for Jonathan’s Nomination Form – PDP Govs

…Hail choice of issues-based campaign


State Governors on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) yesterday told President Goodluck Jonathan that they had paid the N11 million fee for his nominations.

The governors who informed the president of their decision after accompanying him from Eagle Square, venue of his declaration, commended the president for his decision to engage in issue based campaign.
The party charged N1million for expression of interest and N10 million for its presidential nomination form.

In a two-paragraph statement, Presidential spokesman, Mr Ima Niboro, described the gesture as a rare show of massive support for the candidacy of President Jonathan.

He said: “In a gesture of massive support for President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan’s candidacy in next year’s Presidential elections, governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) announced Saturday at the
Presidential Villa that they have paid for the President’s nomination form forthe PDP presidential primaries”.

“The Governors who accompanied President Jonathan back to the Presidential Villa after the declaration of his candidacy at Eagle Square applauded his decision to seek a fresh term of office and his promise of an issues-based campaign”.
They hailed the President’s declaration address to the nation as well as his pledge to positively transform Nigeria if elected to a fresh term of office.
