Eagles striker, Osaze Odemwingie said yesterday that West Brom Albion represented his last opportunity to play in the English premier League.
Osaze has passed a medical and he is waiting for work permit. He said that coming to England was the next chapter of his career, which has seen him play in Belgium, France and Russia.
“I couldn’t refuse the chance to come play in the Premiership.
“My Eagles teammates in England have talked about the premier league in a good way. So when this opportunity presented itself, I simply asked Lokomotiv to consider it.
“These are the opportunities you hope for when you decide to become a footballer. [This is] the next chapter of my career,†said Osaze.
Born in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, to a Nigerian father and Russian mother in 1981, Odemwingie moved to Nigeria as a two_year_old.After spending his early years in Nigeria, Odemwingie returned to the former Soviet Union to complete his secondary education and subsequently joined the youth football academy of CSKA Moscow.
He returned to Nigeria to begin his club career with Insurance in 2000, playing alongside former Portsmouth striker Julius Aghahowa, before moving to Belgium side La Louvière in 2002.
He then joined French side Lille in 2005 before Lokomotiv Moscow snapped him up in the summer of 2007.
Odemwingie has in the past been linked with moves to Blackburn Rovers and Bolton Wanderers.
