ABUJA—Ahead of 2011 elections, Mr. Abdulahi Adamu, Executive Secretary, Association for Better Kebbi, ABK, has urged the people of Kebbi State to brace up for a change that will usher in better and transparent governance even as he scored the Governor Usman Dakingari-led administration low.
While addressing newsmen in Abuja, Mr. Adamu said the level of corruption in the state at present is unparalleled since the creation of the state 19 years ago.
He said ABK in conjunction with the opposition in Kebbi State and some progressives in the ruling party who also believe the state could be better governed, would move the state to the next level.
He said: “You need to come to Kebbi State and see things for yourself. Things have gone so bad that you begin to imagine we have not had a better Kebbi before now. Most of the people in government are sycophants. Contractors abandon project sites and elected officers have been given blank cheques to return as Senators and House members.
“There is virtually nothing on ground to justify the huge federal allocation which runs into billions in the last three years.â€
