The baton of leadership of the all female service club, Soroptimist International of Ikeja, was last week passed down to Mrs Omotayo Olabenjo even as Mrs Oludewa Thorpe who served between 2008-2010 bows out. The change of Insignia and Investiture ceremony which took place at the SUBEB hall of the Lagos State Universal Basic education, Mary land, Lagos, was conducted by the club’s national president, Mrs Theresa Odogwu.

The national chairman of the Progressive Peoples Alliance, Engr Larry Esin, is unperturbed by the defection of Governor Theodore Orji of Abia State from the PPA to the All Progressive Grand Alliance. He says the governor’s exit is a non-issue and will not in any way affect the fortunes of the party in the state.
