Two groups,  Movement for No Arms Struggle of Niger Delta (MNASND) and Ex-Commanders of MEND Under Tompolo (ECMUT) have called on Nigerians to support President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration to enable him to make the country great .

The groups in a statement signed by their chairman, Josiah Oyakonghan, Peremor Ekpesegba, secretary and Peter Ekpebide, PRO also appealed to Nigerians not to stop President Jonathan from contesting the 2011 presidential election.

The ex-commanders tasked President Jonathan to bring positive change to the country, lamenting that Nigeria is one of the richest countries in the world yet lacked practical development.

The group appealed to some northerners who were aggrieved in the process of Jonathan becoming the president of Nigeria to desist from making incisive comments in the media, adding that it may make other countries feel that Nigeria is at war. “Is there any crime in it if someone from the Niger Delta is made president of Nigeria?” the statement asked.

According to the statement, “President Goodluck Jonathan needs total support from Nigerians to make this country a great one for all for us. We need to give him the desired support to enable him transformed this country. Jonathan means good for Nigerians, for that he should be asked to contest the 2011 presidential election”.
