‘Uduaghan’s critics are ingrates’

By Festus Ahon
UGHELLI—CRITICS of Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan of Delta State, have been challenged to show evidence of their stewardship while in public office. Speaking to newsmen in Ozoro, Isoko North Local Government Area of the state, Coordinator of Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan Campaign Organisation for 2011 in Canada, Mr. Peter Eyamaro said majority of those criticizing the Uduaghan’s administration are people who had received juicy contracts from the same government and its agencies.

He said, “some of these people are ingrate and jealous. How can you criticise a person who had taken you not only as a partner but as a brother? You cannot criticize a system that you have benefited from. The facts and evidence of the achievements of this administration in Isokoland are there for everyone to see.

“More than 57 Isoko persons were appointed into this government ranging from Statutory Board Chairmen, Special Advisers, Senior Special Assistants, Special Assistants and Personal Assistants,” it said.

According to him,  Isoko alone has over 111 DESOPADEC projects and 16 electrification projects. He pleaded with Isoko people to support those in government in order to encourage them to do more.

“I was part of the campaign of the Governor and Mr Tim Owhefere during the 2007 elections. In my own judgment and from the look of things, from what they have done, the Governor, Tim Owhefere and Mr Macaulay should be given kudos because they deserve it. That we have somebody close to government, we should encourage him, not condemnation’’, he said.

Eyamaro said Isoko needed experienced and well educated politicians,  who would stand the test of time anywhere at the national level, lamenting that Isoko people were yearning for quality representation at the federal level.
