WARRI— A thirty-nine- year-old man, Mr. Victor Edon, of Ifiekporo community, Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State, who was abducted, tortured and dumped at the Okoloba forest in Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area, by suspected hired hoodlums, has been rescued by soldiers.

The victim who was beaten and macheted was left for dead by his assailants numbering about 12, before he was  dumped in the bush last Saturday, where he was struggling for survival before a soldier, simply identified as Mr. Isaiah from the Effurun Barrack,  who heard his groaning, came to his rescue.

Mr. Victor Edon,  who has lost one of his eyes due to the torture has been transferred from the Medical Reception Station of the Nigerian Army Effurun Barracks to the Ekpan General Hospital.
