Greece defender Vassilis Torosidis is playing down the prospect of his country’s revival at the World Cup following the 2-0 loss to South Korea.
Torosidis says the defense-minded Greeks will redouble their efforts against Nigeria on Thursday but are unlikely to undergo a “transformation.â€
Greece defender Sotiris Kyrgiakos said Tuesday he is ready to play after being kept on the bench in the opening match. “I do not see us doing anything great against Nigeriaâ€. The Greeks play Argentina in their last Group B game.
They are at the foot of the table and may exit the tournament if they lose against the Nigerians, who are also desirous of a victory, to stand a chance of qualifying for the second round.
