Unless the political risk of unbridled financial/economical globalisation and the steady decline in the role of governments in the global arena were checked, the world may experience another global financial meltdown, as was witnessed in 2008, a new book: Minimizing ‘Political Risk’ for Sustainable Investment: Global Paradigm Shifts and Nigeria’s Niger Delta,†has warned.
Written by Dr. Ikenna Nwosu, the book will be presented in Abuja tomorrow.
Hinting about the presentation, Nwosu said the event would be chaired by the Chairman of the Nigerian National Merit Award, Prof Anya O. Anya with Senate President, David Mark, as special guest of honour and Defence Minister, Prince Adetokunbo Kayode, SAN, as chief presenter.
The book critically assessed the impact, management strategies, legal contractual mechanisms, paradigm shifts, government/corporate responses, current trends and new direction in respect of political risks in foreign investment.
Strikingly, it also focused on the Niger Delta crisis and its political implications for foreign and investment globally.
