Daniel extols Odutola’s virtue at burial

ABEOKUTA— GOVERNOR Olugbenga Daniel, has described the death of prominent industrialist, Chief Jimoh Odutola as the exit of one of the country’s pioneer private entrepreneur who contributed immensely to the economic development of his state and country.

Chief Odutola died on Saturday at the age of 105 and was buried on Sunday at his Osimore home.

Governor Daniel who attended the burial service at the Ijebu Ode Central Mosque on Sunday said the late businessman showed and consolidated the well known business acumen of his race and contributed immensely to the growth of Ijebu land and Ogun State .

He said: “Chief Jimoh Odutola who followed the footsteps of his elder brother, Chief Adeola Odutola, the Ogbeni Oja of Ijebu land, carved a niche for himself in the business world, he was known for truthfulness, hard work and innovative business ideas that helped him nurtured a small enterprise into a major business enterprise.”

“It is important for the new generation to take a cue from the likes of Chief Jimoh Odutola who through his businesses created jobs and better the lots of many people in the society. It is indeed very sad that the tribe of such astute businessmen who can be described as genuine industrialists is fast dwindling.”
