Women group counsels First Lady

The Alumni of the  National Association of Ijaw Female Students, NAIFS, Alumni has advised the First Lady, Dame Patience Goodluck Jonathan, to continue with the good support she has been giving the President, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan as he steers the ship of governance in Nigeria.

In a statement issued in Lagos and signed by Stella Coker and Ihekwaba Mbelakpo Anita, President and Publicity Secretary respectively, the group declared that the nation needs the motherly wisdom of the Firsty Lady at this period of nation building.

While consoling the First Lady and her husband on the unfortunate death of  the former President, Musa Yar’Adua, the group however congratulated the First Lady for the emergence of her husband as President of Nigeria.

“We cannot forget the great support the First Lady has been giving to women in Ijawland. We remember particularly the great honour Her Excellency gave to Ijaw female students during our convention in Abuja.

Not only that the First Lady honoured NAIFS with her presence at the convention, we will also not forget all the motherly advice she gave us at the event. We can see the hand of God Almighty in the life of the nation’s first family and we rejoice with them,” the group said.

It urged the First Lady to continue to do the Ijaw nation proud by giving massive support to the President as she has been doing, adding that “the God of Ijaw nation will not let you down”.
