Group tackles Senator on constituency projects

By Emma Amaize
AGBOR—NEW Generation Stakeholders, a political pressure group at Abavo clan, Delta North senatorial district, has challenged Senator Patrick Osakwe, representing the district in the Senate, to publish the names of the nine communities he claimed received a transformer each from him.

The group, led by Mr. Francis Kenneth Igho, also asked Senator Osakwe to make public the names of the purported 20 persons from each of the nine local government areas of Delta North that received N20,000 from him as scholarship.

Mr. Igho told Vanguard, weekend, that the performance of the Senator in his three terms so far had been a sad story to the people of Delta North.

“We have thrown our weight behind the candidature of the current Secretary to the State Government, SSG, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, for Delta North senatorial district seat.

“What we seek is meaningful development and welfare of youths in Delta North. Dr.  Okowa is a tested administrator, a committed friend of the masses, a lover of the poor who sought to effect a positive change in the lives of Delta North people through selfless public service.

“His bid for the Senate is not for motives that are personal but for a collective interest of the people.

“We are at the threshold of redefining the parameters of good senatorial representation in the history of Delta North. As we approach yet another milestone in our democratic journey, we call on the entire people of Anioma to be vigilant in order to ensure that only people who have proven record in selfless service are supported in the forthcoming elections,” the group asserted.
