FOR the second time, the national leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has postponed its National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting.
The party in a three paragraph statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Professor Rufai Ahmed Alkali neither gave a new date for the meeting nor reason for the postponement.
Alkali who apologized for the inconveniences it must have caused members, said, “the meeting of the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) earlier scheduled for Thursday, 8th of April, 2010 has been postponed.
A new date shall be communicated to all members in due course.
“The National Chairman, Prince (Dr.) Vincent Eze Ogbulafor regrets any inconveniences caused by this postponement and looks forward to receiving members as soon as a new date is announcedâ€.
It would be recalled that the NEC meeting was first fixed for 25th March, 2010, but was later shifted to 8th April as gathered was to enable Acting President Goodluck Jonathan attend the meeting against the backdrop that the 25th date clashed with his programme.
The last 49th NEC meeting was held last year December and it is held quarterly except when the need arises for emergency ones.
