The Yoruba Youths for Good Governance (YYGG), a group saddled with the responsibility of monitoring and ensuring probity, equity and fairness in south-west public affairs, says it is “deeply perturbed by the skewed ministerial list in favour of Ogun State by Acting President Goodluck Jonathanâ€. “The list that is before the Senate needs another look and this is urgent.
The group hereby calls on Acting President Jonathan to take another look at the list and let the entire Nigerians know why Ogun State should be given two slots. a former minister of state for finance, Jubril Martins-Kuye and one Awodele Najim Adewole also are on the listâ€, a statement by the group said.
The group argued, “While the nominations of Jubril Martins-Kuye, being a well known political figure, is understandable, that of Adewole Alao is unpardonable.
Of all the states in Yorubaland, why should Ogun State be allotted two slots? Already, the state produced a former president, and an incumbent speaker of the House of Representatives among others. Osun State where the speakership was initially zoned has nothing to show.
