LAST week, I criticised the many PDP members who objected to Yar’Adua being “foisted” on them as a presidential candidate but maintained a cowardly silence when Obasanjo (aka OBJ) instructed them to vote for Yar’Adua at the party convention in 2006…and are now bitterly blaming OBJ for problems that wouldn’t have arisen if they had stood up to him.

Their response seem to imply that their lives and survival depended on it. But unlike what obtains presently in Nigeria, members of the Lagos State House of Assembly surprisingly demonstrated the imperative of subjecting themselves to an HIV/AIDS test instead of shying away from it as many are wont. This they did during a one-day free HIV counseling and testing services organised by the Lagos State AIDS Control Agency, LSACA which took place at the Assembly complex.

Nigerian footballer, Endurance Idahor collapsed and died in Sudan while playing for Sudanese champions, El Merreikh on Saturday, in Khartoum. Reports suggest that the former national U-20 player was felled after a tackle left him on his back and couldn’t breath again. He was immediately rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
