KADUNA — Outspoken Anglican Bishop of the Kaduna Diocese, Most Rev. Josiah Idowu Fearon, has advised President Umaru Yar’Adua against seeking a second term in office in view of his poor health even as he predicted that the 2011 election will be chaotic.
Fearon spoke against the back-drop of reports that some motorcycles with Yar’Adua as the brand name were being noticed in the state ostensibly in prepara-tion for the President’s 2011 electioneering campaigns. The Yar’Adua motorcycles are mainly within the range of C125 engine capacity.
Addressing newsmen in Kaduna, yesterday, Bishop Fearon said Yar’Adua should forget about the presidency in 2011 and look after his health for the sake of “himself, family members and the countryâ€.
He regretted that politi-cians in the country have made politics “a do-or-die affair†instead of taking defeat in good faith.
He, however, praised the Nigerian press for being objective and balanced in the reportage of issues affecting the country.
