The cold war between the Presidential Task Force, PTF, and the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, may have finally been buried as the PTF has cancelled the idea of chartering an aircraft with NFF chartering theirs, too.
A very reliable source informed yesterday that Chairman of the PTF and Governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Amechi, cancelled PTF flight arrangement as he said that it was not economically wise to go to Nairobi with two aircraft. The PTF had reserved 40 seats for NFF and players in their earlier arrangement to use Arik Air.
But NFF officials who claimed that the 40 seats were inadequate snubbed PTF to charter Chanchangi to convey their members and the players.
But yesterday, our source said that Governor Amechi cancelled the idea of going with their own aircraft when NFF opted to charter an aircraft.
Our source also said that the NFF reciprocated by giving 20 seats to PTF while some Senators and government officials would take up the remaining seats after the players and NFF officials.
Nigeria play Kenya in a 2010 World Cup qualifier which they must win and pray that Mozambique beat Tunisia. If Tunisia win by 1-0, it makes nonsense of the victory of Nigeria in Kenya no matter the margin of goals scored.
