THE Nigerian Liquefied Natural Gas Limited, (NLNG) Company has appointed Mr Basheer Koko as the new Deputy Managing Director, haven taken over from his predecessor Engineer Faithful Abbi Abbiye Suku recently. Koko, had long made a mark in the banking and advertising sectors began to parade their whiz kids, making a youthful executive of multimillion dollar business fashionable.
In due course, he began his carrier in 1982 at the Kaduna refinery, where he held several key positions as Manager, marketing and sales at the Eleme Petrochemicals, Port Harcourt, Manager, Marketing and Shipping, LNG Division, Office of the Group Managing Director, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) within the period of January 1999 to November 2003; and Executive director (Services) of the Kaduna refining and petrochemical company limited (November 2003 to September 2007).
Accordingly, he served as the special assistant to the Honourable Minister of Petroleum Resources/OPEC president from may to November 1988 and the technical assistant to the Honourable Minister of state for Petroleum Resources (February to August 1998).
He joined NLNG with over 25 years experience in the global oil and gas industry, from Hyson (Nigeria) Limited where he was the Managing Director with unique blend of managerial experience combined with a clear understanding of the delicate working of government policies.
