Nasarawa codemns poor pilgrims’ accommodation in Mecca

The Nasarawa State Government has condemned the standard of accommodation secured for its pilgrims in Mecca by the National Hajj Commission (NAHCOM), saying the area lacks proper sanitation.

The state’s Amirul Hajj and the Andoma of Doma, Alhaji Ahmadu Ogah, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Sunday in Mecca that his team found the accommodation as “highly unacceptable to our pilgrims whose health has been put at risk.”

Ogah, who said that the state’s officials to this year’s Hajj had summoned an emergency meeting over continued complains raised by the state contingent, noted that if it had not been too late, the pilgrims would have been moved to a more healthy environment.

According to him, this is because their health is more important to us than any other thing.
