KANO â€”THE Kano State government has declared that its investment on Information and Communication Technology is a radical step designed to reposition the age long entrepreneurial spirit of her citizens.
Governor Ibrahim Shekarau who made the justification during a national workshop on strategy for promoting entrepreneurial skill through training in technical and vocational education in Nigeria holding in Kano admitted that entrepreneurial skill in Kano had declined followingÂ the emerging challenges of technological advancement.
â€œKano is a state well-known in history for its entrepreneurial skill and had in the last few years witnessed a steady decline due to the emerging challenges of technological breakthrough and as responsible government we decided to confront it with opportunities inherent in ICT,â€ Governor Shekarau said.
Shekarau who was represented at the workshop organised by National Centre for Technology Management noted that paradigim shift in approach was further designed to restore Kano as a centre of commerce.
Shekarau said his administration was committed to the completion of the ICT Park, adding that it is a critical area that has taken governmental attention in view of its spillover effect on human development.
