By Benjamin Njoku

Enugu – A pan Igbo socio-cultural organisation,  Eastern Conscience, has called on all Ndigbo sons and daughters, especially the elites, to always learn to protect and support the new and  emerging Igbo leaders, who are daily springing up.

In a communique at the end of an emergency meeting of its executives in Enugu state , the Secretary of the body, Chief Ananaba, urged Ndigbo to rally round all the emerging leaders from the zone.

The meeting was attended by delegates from all the five South-East States including, Delta state

According to Chief Ananaba, who noted that the emerging Igbo leaders would definitely help reposition the place of Ndigbo in the nation’s political and economic scenes,  added that, “now is the appropriate time to support and project the new leaders to the rest of Nigeria and the world at large”.

“We must promote, protect and support all the new and emerging leaders from the East, who are currently making us proud with their great works, especially in the areas of good governance and accountability in their various states.

And we at Eastern Conscience make bold to say that the Imo State Governor, Ikedi Ohakim, is one of these young and emerging Igbo leaders.
