Abuja – Former military President, General Ibrahim Babangida yesterday urged Muslims faithful to use the period of the Ramadan to pray fervently for soonest recovery of our ailing President, Alhaji Umaru Yar’Adua.
General Babangida, who stated this in his Ramadan message sent to Muslim community yesterday, also urges prayers for Lagos lawyer and human rights activist, Chief Gani Fawehinmi and several others who might be facing some health challenges.
“We must avoid all the pitfalls of the past and be more resolute in our determination to forge ahead. We should also use this Holy month to pray for the good health of our President, Alhaji Umaru Yar’dua and several others who might be facing some health challengesâ€, he said.
He, however, admonished political office holders including state governors, lawmakers and opinion moulders as well as politicians to have the fear of Allah in all their activities for the good of the nation.
