Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State has urged workers in the state to show exemplary services in their official duties as part of adding value to humanity.
Meanwhile, in fulfillment of the promise of the present administration to reform the transportation sector in the state, especially the promotion of safe driving culture on the roads, Governor Fashola will Tuesday commission one of the five driversâ€™ institutes initiated and constructed by the state government.
Fashola, who gave the charge while presenting certificates of commendation to 14 members of the Lagos State Ambulance Buses (LASAMBUS) and Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), yesterday, who rendered exemplary services in the course of their duties recently, noted that such gestures would not go unnoticed, adding that it is the hallmark of Lagos employment.
The 14 officials were recognised for assisting to save the lives of two Lagos residents, Mr. Golabo Olanrewaju and his mother, who were involved in fatal accidents on their way to the hospital.
On the drivers institute, Special Adviser on Transportation, Mr. Kayode Opeifa, said the drivers institute was established among other things to re-train professional drivers in diving skills, road traffic rules and regulations, improve driving techniques of all categories of drivers, provide prospective employers with the history of professional drivers and assist driving schools with training materials and re-training instructors.
