Awka – The Diocese On The Niger, Anglican Communion, has commended the various on-going development efforts in Anambra state, attributing it to the leadership ingenuity of the State Governor, Mr. Peter Obi.
In a communique at the end of its synod in Onitsha, the Church commended the Governor for the unprecedented zeal with which he embarked on reconstruction and rehabilitation of roads in the state, especially those in Onitsha.
The communique by the Diocesan Bishop, the Rt. Rev. Ken Okeke, also commended the governor’s effort in combating erosion in parts of the state.
While expressing optimism that in no distant future, and given adequate resources, the government would hopefully do more, the communique praised the current network of roads, noting that communities in the State are now well connected.
The diocese also expressed satisfaction with the way the state government was handling healthcare issues in the state.
