The Ijaw Monitoring Group has described the death of the ex-wife of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Mrs. Mojisola Obasanjo, as a “calamity to the democratic forces struggling to return Nigeria to genuine democracy.”

ABUJA -THE Federal Government on Tuesday stressed the need to review laws guiding the petroleum and other related industries in the country.

The world has, in the last many months, worried about the effect of the “global financial meltdown”, but what has been happening to Gordon’s cabinet since the expenses scandals broke and only days to local and European elections is a clear case of “executive meltdown”, the cabinet is the equivalent of a sinking ship and everyone is in a hurry to bail out.

Joe Ambakaderimo, National President of the group, nevertheless condemned the militants whose continued activities, he said, were disrespectful of the Vice-President and his office.
