Anambra to upgrade infrastructure

AWKA—THE Anambra State government is to upgrade dilapidated infrastructure in Okija community in Ihiala Local Government Area of the state to enhance the living standard of the people of the area, the state Governor, Mr. Peter Obi has said.
Speaking at a reception organised in his honour by the people of the community, Obi charged them to embrace peace and unity and ensure an enabling environment for sustainable development that would restore the glory of the town, which he noted was endowed with quality human and material resources.

The Governor announced that government would in the next three months commence the rebuilding of collapsed structures at the famous Okija Grammar School, Ubahu Primary School and Saint Mary’s Primary School, Okija, and commences the discharge of the flood ravaging the Nkwo Okija market.

He told the people that the state had gone beyond party politics and urged stakeholders in the various communities to work harmoniously to achieve the collective interest of the people.

The member representing Ihiala Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Chief Chuma Nzeribe promised that the area will with their support for the Governor, as he was piloting the affairs of the state with the fear of God, adding that the hitherto neglected parts of the state have been given a sense of belonging.
