In a bid to foster company-media relationship and to keep abreast with global business trends, Nestle Nigeria Limited last weekend organized a media parley with top executives of some Nigeria press at the company’s corporate headquarters, Ilupeju, Lagos.
The Managing Director, Nestlé Nigeria limited, Mr. Mauricio Alarcon who was pleased with the high media presence, thanked the participants for taking out time against their tight schedules. He also thanked them for their support over time.
“We believe it is very important to establish a platform for dialogue, that you get a chance to view our space, understand our brand, interact, network and enjoy some of our Nestle breakfast products. All these, is an opportunity to thank you for the support you have given to us over time. But more important, it is for keeping you updated with everything Nestlé Nigeria is doing today. We truly believe that Nestlé and you the media partnering, we can create a better society,” Alarcon said
Continuing, he stressed; “I also believe that with this parley, it is up to you to see those things and judge for yourselves how we operate in Nigeria with a strong focus on nutrition, health and wellness values the Nestlé delivers to the society.”
Meantime, in a slide show presentation, the company then introduced the way it works to impact the society positively to the participants.
Nestlé, the largest Nutrition, Health and Wellness company, works alongside partners to create shared value – contributing to society while ensuring long term success of its business. It is called Creating Shared Value (CSV) and it is embedded in everything Nestlé does. Driven by its purpose that is: enhancing quality of life and contributing to a healthier future, the company recently made 42 public commitments to support its ambition.
In the words of Mr. Alarcon, “This is not a relationship we are building only for ourselves but also for those who are important to us in our business and to let the public know more about our CSV initiatives in community development, sports and other supports we are giving to Nigerian young talents and farmers. It is also important that you give us this opportunity to introduce a bit of who we are and what the organization stands for.”
The company then shared stories of how, every day, Nestlé Nigeria touches the lives of millions of people, from the farmers who grow its ingredients to the families who enjoy its products, to the communities where the company works, and the rural environment upon which it depends.
