Chief James Onanefe Ibori

The governor of Bayelsa State, Seriake Dickson and the ex-governor of Delta state, Chief James Ibori, that was given a glorious welcome be his people to have returned from London prison after serving his jail terms of money laundering and other charges, have on Thursday 9 March resolved to tackle security issues plaguing the Niger-Delta region. Mobilization and employing their various resources together in fighting insecurity in their various state is what they have resolved, thus exploring every means to fight insecurity.

This was made known in a statement signed and issued by Daniel Iworiso-Markson, the Chief Press Secretary to Dickson, following a closed-door meeting between the two regional leaders which took place at Oghara, Delta state residence of Ibori.

According to the statement, the two leaders will play major roles in informing key stakeholders towards tackling some of the several challenges affecting the development of the region.
